Magazine Show

Magazine format tv series are my specialty. In fact, I've received numerous awards including an Emmy nomination for my skills as a producer of magazine format tv series. As its name suggests, magazine format series are similar to print magazines. Just as print magazines contain multiple articles on a variety of topics, a magazine format show contains multiple segments on a variety of topics.
I offer several services for the production of your magazine format tv series. First, I can handle the creation of your show from concept to completion. I will produce, shoot and edit your show. Prices vary according to the complexity of the show but prices usually range between $4,000.00 - $6,000.00 per 30 minute episode.
If you are an organization with an in-house video production department, I can serve as a consultant to help you create your show from scratch or revamp a current show. Or I can serve as executive producer of your show, offering guidance and feedback on every episode.
As a consultant I will charge you a one-time fee to help design your show based around your resource and time limitations. I will be fully involved in the first episode, training your staff to produce a high quality show under a variety of circumstances. I will go into the field and show proper interviewing techniques, lighting, and b-roll acquisition. I will then work with your staff in post production to show them how to put it all together in a quality production.
I can also serve as Executive Producer of your show. In this capacity I will work with your staff in coming up with interesting topics for each show, go over scripts and interview questions to make sure the questions will elicit the appropriate responses, review final edits and make suggestions for how to improve the production. The fee for this service is $1,000.00 per episode.

Notes: I completely revamped their REAL School magazine show. Results: Within three episodes, moved to #2 in ratings for its time slot plus became #3 overall best- rated show on PBS affiliate WJCT and won numerous awards.

Notes: I completely revamped their School MATTERS talk show. Changes included a new set featuring rear-projection screens playing computer animations, replaced square table and seats with round table without seats which forced the participants to stand adding more energy to the show. Also increased number of segments from three to four thus shortening the segments and increasing the pace of the show. Increased number of guests per segment and added interstitial breaks featuring factoids, all of which helped break up the show and increase the pace. Results: Turned it into an award-winning show.
